Welcome Home Day
The Detachment Participated in the first annual "Welcome Home Vietnam Veteran's Day" held at the American Legion in Valparaiso on 30 March. A crowd of mostly veterans estimated at about 250 participated in a day of speeches, fellowship, and good food. Also participating besides Post 94 was the Porter Co. Chapter of the VVA, and the VFW. A number of participants were from outside Porter County. Guest Speakers that day included State Representative Ed Soliday, The American Legion Department of Indiana Commander, The mayors of both Valparaiso and Portage, and a representative of U.S. Senator Lugar's office.
